Houston’s buildings range from mid-century ranch homes to new townhomes and commercial properties, and each asks different questions of a roof. From our base in Katy, the west side of Houston is close to home: the Energy Corridor, Memorial, Spring Branch and Westchase. We also take on work across the wider city, and the team confirms availability for each address.
What Houston property owners ask us about.
01
Hurricanes and severe wind
Houston has seen serious wind events in recent years, including the May 2024 derecho and Hurricane Beryl in July 2024. Wind can lift and crease shingles without removing them, so an inspection looks for damage that is easy to miss from the ground.
02
Older roofs and past repairs
In established neighborhoods, a roof may carry years of history: earlier repairs, added vents, replaced flashing. Share what you know about past work so the team can weigh repair against replacement.
03
Deed restrictions
Houston has no traditional zoning, and many neighborhoods rely on deed restrictions or a civic association to set exterior standards. Check yours before choosing a new roof color or material.
04
Commercial and multi-family
Offices, retail and multi-family buildings need roof work planned around tenants and access. Tell us how the property is used and when work can happen.
Where we work in Houston.
The west side is closest to our Katy base: the Energy Corridor, Memorial, Spring Branch, Westchase and Alief. From there, we serve neighborhoods and businesses across Houston and Harris County.
Down South is based in Katy, so west Houston is closest, but the team works across the Houston area. Share your address and ZIP code and the team will confirm availability.
My roof went through Hurricane Beryl. Is it too late to have it checked?
If it has not been inspected, it is worth doing. Wind damage can go unnoticed until a leak appears. Ask your insurer about any deadlines that apply to your policy.
Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes. Down South handles commercial and multi-family roofing as well as commercial build-outs. Tell the team about the property and how it is used.
Do you speak Spanish?
Yes. JR speaks Spanish. Call or text him at (832) 528-3994.
